What do you do now?! -The Fake Anti-Virus Edition

I have seen a rash of fake Anti-Virus attacks over the past several months. They take the form of an official looking virus scanner window and security center alert. The main point is for them to “scan” your computer and “find” viruses. When you try to removed the found viruses they present you with a window to purchase the fake product. I Love Being the Computer Guy

For me being the computer guy is what I love, sometimes it’s not the easiest job in the world. People look to you to figure out why this piece of technology doesn’t work or why is my PC acting this way. I love to figure out what is not working, its part of that quest for knowledge I have.

I enjoy fixing peoples computer issues and answering questions about technology. I’ve consulted people with their choices of laptops, desktops, HD TVs, and other assorted technology. Some area’s I am a little weak in (HD TVs is one example), but I try to offer the best advice I can and enjoy the discussion. The best part of the discussion are what you learn from other people. Everyone no matter what their tech level is can teach you things.

I’ve grown into the role of the computer guy, to be honest I didn’t always embrace the title. There was a time where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go down this route, but a change of perspective has provided the motivation I needed. While I know one day I may grow out of this role I enjoy what I am doing now.

The best part about being the computer guy is the satisfaction I feel when I solve problems for the users or customers I support. That to me is the greatest feeling in the world.
